GIFT Family Ministry
Generations in Faith Together
Christian education for families with children age 4 — grade 6
When & Where:
- Wednesday evenings: 5:45-7:00PM at the Journey In Faith campus
- Sunday mornings: 9:30-10:45AM at the Faith Lutheran campus
GIFT is our innovative replacement for traditional Sunday school. Parents are an integral part of this system and attend every week with their children. The curriculum we use is called Bible Song from Faith Inkubators. Parents (and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors, friends…) and children gather in large group to hear and see the Bible story in full color cartoons on the big screen and in skits and games. We learn a theme Bible verse in American Sign Language, then sing and sign the verse in the weekly ‘Bible Song’! We then move to what we call breakout, where families gather around tables to share, review, and create projects based on the theme Bible story. Families make friends in faith, older children serve as role models and helpers for the little ones, and children grow up with multiple adult faith mentors.
What happens at church shouldn’t stay at church…
GIFT goes home every night through Home Huddles – FAITH5.
Value Packed Parenting
Each year, as a part of GIFT, we offer a 6-10 session Christian parenting video series. This is a part of our ongoing commitment to partner with and equip parents to guide the Christian development of their children. These videos help parents navigate the crazy job of raising value packed kids in our pleasure driven society. We strive to include topics that address parent’s concerns and to ground all we learn in the Gospel of Jesus. Topics have included: media influences, peer pressure, communication, tempers, self esteem, bullying, birth order, etc.
